Samsung Galaxy M33 5G launching in India on April 2 with a 6000mAh battery and a 120Hz display

Samsung has announced the launch date of Galaxy M33 5G in India to be April 02, 2022. It will be retailing through Amazon and there’s a new ‘Notify Me’ microsite on the site, which reveals the key specs of the phone. Samsung India has teased the device will feature an unnamed 5nm octa-core processor, up to 8GB RAM, 16GB Virtual RAM, 128GB storage, a 6.6-inch 120Hz screen, and a 6000mAh battery with 25W charging support. However, there will be no charger in the box to “minimize the environmental impact”.

Samsung has also listed the Galaxy M33 5G specifications on its SamsungMobilePress website. Let’s have a look at those details.

Galaxy M33 5G would be available in Green, Blue, and Brown colours.

Samsung is using an unnamed 5nm APU coupled with 6/8GB LPDDR4x RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. There will be support for up to 16GB RAM+ VRAM feature and up to 1TB micro-SD card expansion.

The internals will also consist of a 5G modem, and a 6000mAh battery. The latter supports 25W fast charging but won’t be coming with an adapter in the box. Samsung says this has been done for its effort in minimizing environmental impact.

On the surface, there is a 6.6-inch TFT LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1080p resolution. There is an Infinity-V cutout that houses an 8MP camera. The back cameras, meanwhile, include a 50MP main sensor, a 5MP ultrawide, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro module.

Other things in the mix are an Intelligent Voice Focus for clearer call reception, Android 12 with One UI 4.1, and a fingerprint scanner.

First ever drone-delivered kidney is no worse for wear

Drone delivery really only seems practical for two things: take-out and organ transplants. Both are relatively light and also extremely time sensitive. Well, experiments in flying a kidney around Baltimore in a refrigerated box have yielded positive results — which also seems promising for getting your pad thai to you in good kit. The test flights were conducted by researchers at the University of Maryland there, led by surgeon Joseph Scalea. He has been frustrated in the past with the inflexibility of air delivery systems, and felt that drones represent an obvious solution to the last-mile problem. Scalea and his colleagues modified a DJI M600 drone to carry a refrigerated box payload, and also designed a wireless biosensor for monitoring the organ while in flight. After months of waiting, their study was assigned a kidney that was healthy enough for testing but not good enough for transplant. Once it landed in Baltimore, the team loaded it into the container and had it travel 14 ...
