OnePlus 10 Ultra and Nord 2 CE 5G concept renders are here, hinting at more than their design

The OnePlus 10 Ultra’s design had been revealed in alleged patent images last week. And based on those sketches, LetsGoDigital has released some concept renders of the device. These pictures reveal the OnePlus 10 Ultra’s purported periscope lens within its extended camera bump, curved punch-holed display on the front, and various buttons by the side including an alert slider. Well, another OnePlus device that won’t be having the alert slider is the soon-to-launch OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G. And the same site has posted some concept renders of this handset too besides reiterating its supposed specs.

So, let’s get on with unfurling these illusory renders of both OnePlus smartphones.

OnePlus 10 Ultra Design and Specs (Expected)

At first look, the OnePlus 10 Ultra might look a lot similar to the Pro model. Well, it is, but there are differences too, naturally and allegedly. The frontier has got a top-left-seated punch-hole cutout and seemingly narrow bezels.

As for the back, the camera panel melts into the side frame, well, kinda, ‘cause there is a subtle seam. Anyway, the new thing about this arrangement is the rectangular housing for the periscope zoom lens. Now the zooming capability of it is something unclear at the moment. There are rumours of it being 3.3x (like the Pro variant) or even 5x optical (as per the latest concepts). We’ll have to wait for corroboratory evidence.

Now, the other two cameras could borrow the same 48MP main sensor and a 50MP 150˚ ultrawide sensor. What’s more, the OnePlus 10 Ultra could employ Oppo’s MariSilicon NPU that could impart better dynamic range, noise reduction, improved details, and real-time RAW processing in 4K videos.

Inside, the Ultra phone is said to either feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or the anticipated successor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus. On top of this, the software could be a ColorOS 12-adjacent OxygenOS 12 in the global markets including India.

Then there are renders of the OnePlus Core Edition phone—

OnePlus Nord renders

OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G Design and Specs (Expected)

The new concept renders of the Nord CE 2 presents the phone’s alleged 6.43-inch 90Hz FHD+ AMOLED display with HDR10+ certification, 64+8+2MP triple rear cameras with 4K30FPS video capability, and its two colourways viz. Grey Sierra and Green Woods. As for the internals, the site mentions MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset and 4500mAh battery with 65W charging support.

Meanwhile, the OnePlus 10 Pro is yet to launch in India but its BIS certification has been recently spotted. Also, other OnePlus phones like Nord 2T and Nord CE 2 Lite 5G  are lately making rounds hinting at a sooner than later launch.

First ever drone-delivered kidney is no worse for wear

Drone delivery really only seems practical for two things: take-out and organ transplants. Both are relatively light and also extremely time sensitive. Well, experiments in flying a kidney around Baltimore in a refrigerated box have yielded positive results — which also seems promising for getting your pad thai to you in good kit. The test flights were conducted by researchers at the University of Maryland there, led by surgeon Joseph Scalea. He has been frustrated in the past with the inflexibility of air delivery systems, and felt that drones represent an obvious solution to the last-mile problem. Scalea and his colleagues modified a DJI M600 drone to carry a refrigerated box payload, and also designed a wireless biosensor for monitoring the organ while in flight. After months of waiting, their study was assigned a kidney that was healthy enough for testing but not good enough for transplant. Once it landed in Baltimore, the team loaded it into the container and had it travel 14

My product launch wishlist for Instagram, Twitter, Uber and more

‘Twas the night before Xmas, and all through the house, not a feature was stirring from the designer’s mouse . . . Not Twitter! Not Uber, Not Apple or Pinterest! On Facebook! On Snapchat! On Lyft or on Insta! . . . From the sidelines I ask you to flex your code’s might. Happy Xmas to all if you make these apps right. Instagram See More Like This – A button on feed posts that when tapped inserts a burst of similar posts before the timeline continues. Want to see more fashion, sunsets, selfies, food porn, pets, or Boomerangs? Instagram’s machine vision technology and metadata would gather them from people you follow and give you a dose. You shouldn’t have to work through search, hashtags, or the Explore page, nor permanently change your feed by following new accounts. Pinterest briefly had this feature (and should bring it back) but it’d work better on Insta. Web DMs  – Instagram’s messaging feature has become the defacto place for sharing memes and trash talk about people’s photo
