Redmi Smart TV with Android 11, 20W speakers and 32-inch, 43-inch sizes launched in India

Xiaomi has launched two new Redmi Smart TVs in India that are available in 32-inch and 43-inch screen sizes. These new Redmi Smart TVs are powered by Android 11 with features like 20W speakers, Dolby Audio support and the new PatchWall 4. Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi debuted its TV range with the launch of the Redmi Smart TV X series (review) earlier in March this year.

The Redmi Smart TV 32 is priced at Rs 15,999 and the Redmi Smart TV 43 will go on sale priced at Rs 25,999. Xiaomi will announce the sale dates at a later date and these new TVs will be available to buy from Amazon India, Mi India store, Mi Home stores and Mi Studios.

The new Redmi Smart TV 32 features an HD Ready display that offers 1366x768 pixels resolution. Meanwhile, the Redmi Smart TV 43 has a Full HD display that offers 1920x1080 pixels resolution. The 32-inch model has 30W stereo speakers with support for Dolby Audio, DTS-HD and DTS Virtual:X. As for the 43-inch model, it comes equipped with a 20W stereo speaker.

This new Redmi Smart TV range runs on PatchWall 4 which is Xiaomi’s custom OS for smart TVs. It is based on the latest Android 11 with built-in Chromecast and features IMDB integration with over 75 free live channels and more.

The new smart TVs by Redmi support Bluetooth 5.0 and dual-band WiFi. There are two USB 2.0 ports, an Ethernet port, an AV port, two HDMI ports and an Earphone jack.

First ever drone-delivered kidney is no worse for wear

Drone delivery really only seems practical for two things: take-out and organ transplants. Both are relatively light and also extremely time sensitive. Well, experiments in flying a kidney around Baltimore in a refrigerated box have yielded positive results — which also seems promising for getting your pad thai to you in good kit. The test flights were conducted by researchers at the University of Maryland there, led by surgeon Joseph Scalea. He has been frustrated in the past with the inflexibility of air delivery systems, and felt that drones represent an obvious solution to the last-mile problem. Scalea and his colleagues modified a DJI M600 drone to carry a refrigerated box payload, and also designed a wireless biosensor for monitoring the organ while in flight. After months of waiting, their study was assigned a kidney that was healthy enough for testing but not good enough for transplant.
