Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition teased ahead of April 27 launch, key specs and design details revealed

It is no secret that Redmi is launching a special Game Enhanced Edition of the Redmi K40 on April 27. The phone is all set to be launched in China on the day and is expected to feature some gaming first features.  Ahead of the launch of the phone, Redmi has shared some design and other key details about the device -- including some of its specifications. 

The company recently took to Weibo to announce that the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition will be powered by MediaTek's flagship, Dimensity 1200 chipset -- an SoC that has previously been used on the Realme GT Neo. To remind our readers, this chipset is built on a 6nm fabrication process and uses a prime Cortex-A78 CPU core clocked at up to 3GHz and 3 Cortex-A78 CPU cores clocked at up to 2.6GHz along with 4x Cortex-A55 CPU cores clocked at up to 2GHz.

The company's new teaser for the phone also reveals some design details about the device, including the fact that it will come with a triple-camera setup at the back. At the front, there is also a punch hole on the screen. Apart from this, the Enhanced Edition is also shown to have buttons on the right-hand side of the device.

Other than this, reports have suggested in the past that this particular edition of the Redmi K40 will come with a 120Hz or 144Hz refresh rate display that will also support a 300Hz touch sampling rate. This is a 6.67-inch AMOLED Full HD+ screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. Further, reports also claim the phone will come with air triggers to improve gaming performance and is expected to feature a 64-megapixel primary Sony IMX686 camera sensor on the back of the phone.
