PUBG Mobile will soon introduce Video Review Station to combat hackers

PUBG Mobile developers have announced that they will be adding a new feature to combat hackers and cheaters that have infiltrated the game. According to a post on Reddit, the developers will be introducing The Video Review Station. Unlike most anti-cheat systems, which rely on the developers to find and identify cheaters, the new system will add the PUBG Mobile community in the mix. The developers notes that the system is quite similar to the one used by other competitive games like League of Legends and Counter Strike: Global

How this will work is that when a player is reported for suspicious activity in a game, a battle replay video is generated from the suspicious player’s perspective. This video will then be distributed randomly to multiple player investigators who will then analyze the video. If a majority of the investigators confirm that the video contains a violation, it will be sent to the official PUBG Mobile team for review, who will then proceed to take necessary action.

The exact launch date for The Video Review Station is not yet known but the developers note that it is currently being tested and is scheduled for release in early September. Further details about the system will be revealed at a later date. Hopefully, we will then know how player investigators will be selected.

The Video Review Station will be the latest in a long line of anti-cheat measures the developers have employed to ensure fair play. A few days ago, the developers announced that they had banned over 2 million accounts for using hacks and cheats over the course of a week. According to the company, 2,273,152 accounts were banned from August 20 to August 27. This also included 1,424,854 devices which were permanently suspended from accessing the game.

These steps come a few days before PUBG Mobile rolls out its v1.0 update. The update will be one of the biggest yet for the game and will not only introduce better graphics, but will also feature an overhauled UI and lobby. It will also come with a new version of Erangel that will feature new layouts and additions. You can read more about that here.

First ever drone-delivered kidney is no worse for wear

Drone delivery really only seems practical for two things: take-out and organ transplants. Both are relatively light and also extremely time sensitive. Well, experiments in flying a kidney around Baltimore in a refrigerated box have yielded positive results — which also seems promising for getting your pad thai to you in good kit. The test flights were conducted by researchers at the University of Maryland there, led by surgeon Joseph Scalea. He has been frustrated in the past with the inflexibility of air delivery systems, and felt that drones represent an obvious solution to the last-mile problem. Scalea and his colleagues modified a DJI M600 drone to carry a refrigerated box payload, and also designed a wireless biosensor for monitoring the organ while in flight. After months of waiting, their study was assigned a kidney that was healthy enough for testing but not good enough for transplant. Once it landed in Baltimore, the team loaded it into the container and had it travel 14 ...
