Huawei Y9 Prime to be launched in India today: expected price, specifications

Huawei confirmed the launch date of the Huawei Y9 Prime a couple of weeks ago. Today, on August 1, Huawei is all set to reveal the price of the smartphones. Although, the global variant of Huawei Y9 Prime was unveiled in May, the availability and price had not been detailed. The smartphone features a notchless display along with a pop-up camera mechanism. 

Huawei Y9 Prime launch time and expected price in India

The Huawei Y9 Prime price in India will be revealed today at 2pm, and its launch will begin at 12pm in New Delhi. As mentioned above, the price of Huawei Y9 Pro was not revealed by the company at its global launch event in May. However, according to a report, Huawei Y9 Prime will be priced under Rs 20,000 in India.

The Huawei Y9 Prime features a 6.59-inch full-HD+ LCD display that delivers an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. The smartphone is powered by an Octa-core Kirin 710F processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. It comes in two storage variants - 64GB and 128GB. It packs a 4000mAh battery and runs EMUI 9 baked on Android 9 Pie.

In the optics department, the device sports a triple rear camera setup: a 16MP primary sensor, an 8MP wide-angle camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front is a 16MP pop-up camera for selfies. Further, it has USB-Type C support as well.

The smartphone will also be part of the Amazon Freedom Sale 2019.

The Huawei Y9 Prime is an upgrade over the Huawei Y9, which was launched in India in January 2019. It features a similar 6.5-inch LCD display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. The smartphone runs on a HiSilicon Kirin 710 chipset, coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The smartphone has a 13MP + 2MP sensor at the back and a dual 16MP + 2MP sensor setup on the front. It packs a 4000mAh battery as well.
